No Menu Bar in IE 9 Beta? Enabling Tips for Menu Bar & Other Toolbars

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 beta has made a lot of discussion about it’s looks without the Menu and other Toolbars. But, you can bring them back easily with a small edit in registry.

Enable the Menu Bar Permanently

When you press Alt or Alt+T, the menu bar will be displayed but won’t stay on permanently. If you like to have the Menu bar always displayed, here is a Registry hack for that.

1. Always create a Restore Point and / or a back up before making any changes to the Registry.

2. Close IE 9.

3. Go to start Menu and Type regedit in “Search programs and Files” box and hit Enter.

4. Your Registry Editor opens now. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft

5. Create a New key in the Name of “Internet Explorer”.

6. Then create another New Key named “Main” under “Internet Explorer”.

7. If you have done these steps properly, your current path name will be

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

8. Just Select “Main” and then in the Right Side Panel Right Click and Create a new DWORD Value Named as “AlwaysShowMenus” and Value as “1″. Then Click OK.

9. Close out of Registry Editor, and open IE 9.

10. Don’t get shocked, becasuse you may not be able to see the Menu Bar.Now just hit Alt or Alt+T again. Here after it will be there always whenever you open IE 9.

Note:

If you don’t want the menu Bar to be present there, just Go to your Registry settings that you created again and change the AlwaysShowMenus Value to “0”.

Always Display Command, Status, and Favorites

Do you want the Command, Status, and Favorites bars to be displayed on Your IE 9. Simply right-click an empty area next to a tab and check whatever bar you want. You can lock the toolbars as well.
