Learn These Taskbar-Specific Keyboard Shortcuts of Windows 7
You should understand these features before you start to tweak your taskbar. There are many new features being added in Windows 7. Below are the Taskbar-specific keyboard shortcuts:
1. Win+B: Focuses the System Tray icons.
2. Win+number (1-9): Opens a new application pinned to the taskbar in that position, or switches to that program.
3. Alt+Win+number (1-9): Opens the Jump List of the particular numbered application pinned to the taskbar.
4. Shift+Win+number (1-9): Opens a new instance of the application pinned to the taskbar in that position.
5. Ctrl+Win+number (1-9): Switches through the opened application pinned to the taskbar in that position, and if the application has not been opened, it opens that application too.
6. Shift+Click on a taskbar button: Quickly opens the particular program or opens the another instance of the program.
7. Drag a File to a taskbar button: Pins the specific file in the current application’s Jump List.
8. Shift+Drag a File to a taskbar button: Opens the specific file with the current application.
9. Middle-Click on a taskbar button: Opens a new instance of the application.
10. Middle-Click on a Aero Thumbnail: Closes that application instance.
12. Ctrl+Shift+Click on a taskbar button: Opens the particular program as an administrator.
13. Click+Drag+Drop taskbar buttons or System Tray icons: It reorganizes those buttons of the applications.
14. Shift+Right-click on a taskbar button: Show the window menu for the program (like XP does).
15. Shift+Right-click on a grouped taskbar button: Show the window menu for the group.
16. Left-Click + Drag upwards: Opens the Jump List for any application.
